| · Dr. C. S. Gonstead (1898-1978) the "Miracle Man" of Chiropractic. His technique became the Hall Mark for the entire profession. With a background in mechanical engineering, he saw the human spine as an intricate engineering wonder and he studied it every chance he had. His work with thousands of spinal cases, his constant clinical studies of the spine, and his own innate knowledge of how the spine works, explains his ingenuity in finding, identifying and correcting subluxations no one else could. His application brought him both national and international acclaim, and he was known as the “chiropractor's chiropractor.” His practice in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin (population only 4000), drew patients from all over the world, and is still the largest to have existed to date. |

 · His clinic was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and is approximately 23,000 square feet. His revolutionary form of chiropractic became so famous that he was forced to build a 76 room hotel (which is now a Best Western) attached to the clinic. He also built an airstrip on the clinic property so patients could have the opportunity to fly into the small town from great distances. Dr. Gonstead's brilliant mind and lifelong experience of treating well over 1 million patients enabled him to develop and refine his technique which is now taught and practiced by doctors of chiropractic all over the world. |
